Education & Training
Dr. Riesett’s path to medicine began with a deep curiosity about people. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Towson University in 1992, followed by an honors program in psychology at the University of Strathclyde. He then went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1999, and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in 2002 — one of the nation’s leading academic medical institutions. He has been in practice for over two decades and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Riesett believes that the foundation of great medicine is a great relationship. He takes the time to truly listen, to understand each patient as a whole person, and to combine his clinical expertise with a genuine passion for patient education. As he puts it:

His approach is both evidence-based and deeply personal — tailoring prevention strategies and treatment plans to each individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. Awards & Recognition
Dr. Riesett’s dedication to his patients and his profession has earned him widespread recognition throughout his career. During his residency, he was honored as the Top Resident at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in 2002 — a distinction that
foreshadowed the exceptional physician he would become. As a medical student at the University of Maryland, he was twice awarded the Silver Fellowship for Excellence in Community Service, reflecting a commitment to giving back that has defined his career from the very beginning. Perhaps most notably, Dr. Riesett has been named a Best Doctor by Baltimore magazine on six separate occasions — a peer-reviewed honor that speaks volumes about the respect he has earned among both his patients and fellow physicians throughout the region.
Beyond the Office
Outside of medicine, Dr. Riesett is a devoted husband to his wife, an early childhood educator, and a proud father of four. A true Marylander through and through, he wears his home state pride on his sleeve — cheering enthusiastically for the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Maryland Terrapins. On weekends you’re just as likely to find him watching the O’s or catching a Terps game as you are to find him relaxing with his family at the beaches of Delaware, where he recharges and finds the same joy in life that he brings to his practice every day.
